When the job turns to hard rock—sockets, boulders, dense formations—the TR-Rock Rig configuration keeps the tool working and the rig steady. Built for stability and controlled downforce, it delivers consistent drilling performance in rock without beating up the operator or machine, and allows torque, RPM, and crowd to be dialed in to match the ground.
TR-Rock Features
- Reaction Jack — Locks the rig in place during drilling to cut vibration and keep the mast plumb, so more of your crowd and torque go straight into the hole.
- Round Locking Kelly Bar — Heavy-duty locking bar built for hard rock that transfers torque reliably and keeps the kelly engaged under high load.
- Variable Crowd Pressure — Allows the operator to dial in and hold the right downforce in rock, maintaining steady penetration and helping avoid stalling or glazing the tool.
- Rotary Slow — Keeps full torque at lower rotary speeds for better control in rock and mixed formations, improving bit and keeping the tool on line.
